Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum & Atomic Bomb Dome:
In Hiroshima memorial Park at the epicenter of the explosion, you can find war memorial museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome.
This museum features a wide variety of exhibits such as belongings left by victims and photos that portray nuclear holocaust. This museum reminds us of the horrendous tragedy that humanity should never repeat. The ruins of Industrial Promotion Hall have been preserved, just as when it was bombed. It is popularly called the Atomic Bomb Dome and in 1996 the dome was registered as a World cultural heritage site.

It tells the world about the terrible disaster of nuclear weapon and the importance of abolition of the weapons and eternal peace in the world as the peace memorial symbol.
The side thick wall and dome portion of reinforcing bar of this building has been remained intact by the explosion because the air blast of the explosion came right just under this building.

Exhibits of materials related with the Atomic Bomb into Hiroshima. This museum opened in 1955.
The purpose is to contribute to realize the abolition of nuclear weapons and world eternal peace.
This museum exhibits articles left behind the atomic bomb victims and photos & materials which show the horrible scenes.
Also, this museum shows the historical tracing before & after the bomb and world situation of the nuclear risk era in the world.
(Memorial cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims to mourn them):
This Memorial cenotaph was designed to the shape of clay image to protect the spirits of victims inside here from rain and dew. A stone coffin where the list of names of victims is set at the center of the cenotaph and in front of the coffin, you can find the stone monument which tell “May your soul rest in peace. We will never make the same mistake again.”. The victims by the Atomic Bomb are deified as not only one nation but also the basis of all human being. Therefore, the people who swear the word on the stone monument must be all the people in the world.

This hall opened in 2002.
The purpose is to have the victims by the atomic bomb branded on mind of all world people and to pray for eternal peace. There is a space of memorial pray for the Atomic Bomb victims which are panorama expressed by the street scene after explosion from the explosion center of “Shima hospital”. At the portrait of deceased people area, the names and the portraits of all victims are opened to public by which the fact of the victims by the bomb are notified to all over the world. Also, several other exhibits such as the letter and movies of the bomb experience by the people are shown.

This Peace Bell was built as the spiritual symbol of culture movement that show the abolition of nuclear weapons and establishment of world peace. World map without any boarder and atomic power marking are put on the surface of this bell.

Itsukushima shrine:
Itsukushima shrine is said to be built in 811 at the first time and Taira Kiyomori who was the top of worriers of Heian era in 12th century reformed the shrine almost same with current one.
Kiyomori was the first Samurai worrier of Japan history who had controlled Japan as Samurai. Before he gained the ruling power as samurai government, the Court government by emperor had controlled Japan.
When you are crossing by ferry, the grand vermilion shrine gate soon come into view. The shrine is built over the water. When the tide is high, it looks as if the shrine were floating. The shrine is also a brilliant vermilion and it creates a sharp contrast against the wooded hills in the background and the blue sky above.
Miyajima Island (535meter altitude) has been considered as the object of religious faith from ancient time. Mt.Misen which you can see from a ferry has several ridges and valleys and have people felt holy and the shape of lying posture of Buddha.
After entering a first Torri, you can find a lot of deer welcoming you. Then, through Omotesandou in Miyajima Island, you can reach Itsukushima-shrine.
Itsukushima shrine is famous for the vermilion painted buildings connected by the corridors and the vermilion colored torii gate. This elegant palace style architecture standing in perfect harmony with its natural surroundings including such as lush greenery and autumn foliage were registered as the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in 1996.
